I have a car, it's made of tin...

nobody knows what shape it's in! It's got 4 wheels and a rumble seat, hear me coming down the street. Honk honk, rattle rattle rattle, CRASH, beep beep.

PJ had her first practice tap show at an old folks home today - I'm sure I'll be posting the real big stage recital pictures (her tap dance recital is 5/20/06) Kevin and Grandma MarMar, who will be here for the week, have promised to take for me. I have to miss her recital for a work trip and am so bummed, but PJ is excited that her friends and Grandma will be there. They'll take videos, too. Here are a couple pictures from the practice run...
In the second picture, they are doing the rattle, rattle part and Parker is holding her suspenders on so her car doesn't crash off while she shakes. Actually, she held it on for most of the dance. But she sang and did all the steps!

What looks best in this planter??

Kevin bought two of these big planters. We put a tree fern in one, which of these three pictures do you think looks best for the remaining planter??

Rainy Eggs

There's nothing like an Easter Egg hunt in the pouring rain!!! Paige can't wait! Brrrrr! Kevin and Kelley are minutes away from boozy coffee drinks...

Parker Jane trying to make sure Paigey looks at the camera yesterday in slightly better weather.

Spring Strep and Flowers

ALL 4 of us had strep throat this past week!! When, at 3 o'clock on Tuesday my sore throat got worse and my fever spiked up to 101.3, I knew I got what Paige had. She seemed better that morning, so was at daycare. After my + rapid strep, I flew to pick up the girls (eek - contagious at school!) and took them in. Paige had a + strep culture, too, then PJ and Kevin got it on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the first Spring in our new house has been wonderful - bulbs everywhere! So here the girls are, enjoying the flowers and feeling better on antibiotics! Happy Spring!

Almost Easter!

So, Kevin and I pretty much let the girls pick out their own clothes, as long as they are sort of weather appropriate. Most of the time people (us included) get a kick out of PJ in her tutu and red cowboy boots and Paige wearing her rainboots every day, the sunnier the better. But sometimes you get an impromptu Easter picture in these outfits. Neither of them have grown out of wearing princess costumes, but we insist on sensible shoes, or rainboots. Parker Jane's friend Hannah spent months wearing nothing but bathing suits and her friend Mason wore spider man every day. I like to think these kids will grow up with an individual flair for style!

When we're out and they run into a child fashion kindred spirit, they immediately hit it off while we smile and shrug our shoulders with the parents. During their little conversations, peppered with nose picking, hugs, crazy dances, spins and announcements about having to poop, I realize they won't stay uninhibited long. It's a good thing we have pictures!

Little Paigey is such a comedian. After she makes a little joke, she looks at us with anticipation, like, wasn't that a good one!!?? Her first joke she made last year, when she was hardly talking. Kevin said he was going to make some morning coffee and Paige said "coffee?" I asked her kiddingly "would you like some coffee?" And she got this huge smile and said, "No, beer!"

At school last week her teacher Sarah kept asking her "Say Sarah" because she wanted the other teacher to hear how she says "Sah-Rah" so funny and Paige just kept saying no. Then a little while later she started bugging Sarah, "Say Paigey" over and over.

She does that Greg Weston thing where she brings back the same joke (any one that got a laugh) for days. In fact, if anyone hung around her a couple weeks ago, you'll love that she brought back "hot pocket" this afternoon.

Not to be outdone, PJ announced yesterday, "I'm a workin' girl!"
When Kevin was like, "Oh my gosh, where did you hear that??" PJ said "Mommy".
