Thanksgiving and a 19 hour drive!

un

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in San Diego. The weather was beautiful (NOT chilly at 65!!), the food was delicious and the company was terrific. We spent a few days with Kevin's dad Kevin, his wife Janet and Aunt Kirsten, who the girls absolutely adore and idolize. The girls had their first Fun Dip and PJ dipped her toes in the ocean. Paige, who comes up with new fears every week, was afraid of the waves. Papa Kevin set us up to stay at a condo of a friend of his who was in Ohio for the holiday, where we stayed with Cru, the sweetest little dog ever. She loved the girls and they wanted to take her home! Really, they wanted to steal her!
The title - not a typo - we drove 19 hours in 2 days on the way home! The girls did fabulous. When we finally got to our neighborhood, I asked them if they wanted to drive around and look at Christmas lights and they both yelled, "YEAH!!" They were also watching "Annie" for the third time straight. Ugh.

Disneyland 2007

We survived! Disneyland was a blast - see next post for more California and driving details. PJ's now tall and brave enough for some roller coasters and Paige loves the Winnie the Pooh ride best. We saw Hannah Montana taping her Christmas special - she sang "All I Want for Christams is You" over and over and PJ loved it. Paige, of course, loved the characters. PJ told Cruella that she has a dalmation and Cruella said, "just one?" then "how big is it - could I make a shawl?" I love how they stay in character no matter what. The Christmas decorations are pretty amazing. They make it snow after the fireworks every night with bubbles. The lights are like the Griswalds. The wreaths are Mickey Mouse ears. U.S.A.!! U.S.A.!!

Pippi Longstockings and the Cowgirl

This was the first Halloween I can remember in my ENTIRE LIFE where we trick or treated without needing coats whatsoever. It was warm, no wind, just a beautiful summery/fall night. I wasn't afraid of any of the ghouls as much as I'm afraid of global warming. And Kevin's obsession with Halloween decorating. The picture of our yard doesn't really do it justice.
