I am predicting Chris Daughtry for the win. Although he is in no way original because he totally reminds me of the post grungey-Eddie-Vedder types, he is pretty cool for AI. I think the top 3 will be Chris, Mandisa and Katherine.
Kevin has "Christine McVie" for the win. He means Katherine. Too Kelly Clarkson. He thinks she has a beautiful voice, but I agree with the rumors that she wears maternity clothes and I find her just a little boring. Taylor Hicks is in his top 3 - I cannot remember who else, either Chris or Mandisa. Kevin has actually voted on the phone for Taylor. Kevin also loves the Doobies, so there you have it. Kevin also likes Paris - ugh - I hate super confident and obnoxious teenagers. Plus, couldn't her famous Grandmother help her out? Let's just cut her loose.
As much as I loved Constantine, Ace doesn't fill that spot for me. He is a little too packaged and handsome. My advice for him is to rent some old Michael Hutchens/INXS footage and learn how to really work the sexy singer angle. I saw INXS in college and didn't sleep for the next two nights. Really. He needs to quit holding his arm out to the camera before I vomit.
So that Elliot really needed a stylist, huh? He looks less like he's one of those goat from the waist down characters from Narnia every episode. The deaf in one ear just reminds me of Baaaaass-ett.
There is no chance, of course, for Bucky Covington, Lisa Tucker or Kellie Pickler. Although I can imitate Kellie Pickler for hours...I'm thinking about putting my imitation on our answering machine. So don't hang up.
One last tidbit - Jose "Sway" Penala (Portland Connection here! Remember that pimpy dude?) was in a boy band with another occupational therapist from Kevin's last job!! There are tapes. What is it with the OTs aspiring to be rock stars??

I too see Chris Daughtry winning. He’s edgy enough, without threatening pop music. I disagree with your “original” comment though. He might have a rock voice, but he did do a rather interesting version of Walk the Line. Although who knows how much of that version is actually him. He also did a Chili Pepers-esque version of Higher Ground. He gets some “American Idiot” points though for not knowing it’s a Stevie Wonder song.
I agree also think Katherine McPhee has a good shot. She has an awesome voice.
I share your dislike for Paris. She’s just a bitchy teenager that has never been reprimanded or denied. I hear the talent in her voice when she is singing, but when she is conversing I want to yell “SHUT THE FUCK UP!” at the TV. I’m also tired of that Jazz Vocal style.
I don’t get the Ace/Michael Hutchence comparo. Ace has long hair, but that’s where it ends. Ace will wind up modeling Abercrombie & Fitch clothes, or making margarita’s at spring break next year at some Jamaican seaside MTV bar.
Elliot needs orthodonture. I call him the slack jawed yocal.
Kellie Pickler, the “Mink”, may surprise you. I think she’s sandbagging. The whole innocent thing is an act. I’m interested in hearing your impression.
The rest of them, Ummm, I forget, who else is in this?
I have all these opinions, but would never waste my time voting, of course.
